President Elect Ron Borland attending  District 9740 Conference 2021
Over the weekend PE Ron Borland and Christine O’Connor attended the D9640 conference at Twin Towns, Tweed Heads.
The guest speakers were outstanding. Rotary International President’s special representative to the District 9640 Conference Dr. Jessie Harman RI Director Elect 2021-2023. Jessie highlighted the achievement of Rotary in Australia over the last 100 years.
 
Another Keynote speaker was Amanda Wendt, District Governor Nominee, D9800 in Victoria.
Amanda is a proud Rotarian who was invited to address the 2018 Rotary International Assembly in San Diego.
Amanda is Vice-chair of the Rotary International Communications Committee and will be District 9800 Governor in 2022-23, making her one of the youngest Governors in Australia’s history. She is also a member of Australia’s first Rotary Club, Rotary Club of Melbourne.
 
Jason Browne: Make Membership Memorable
Jason explored the importance of making members experience at Rotary meeting very memorable so they were keen to keep coming back. Known for his positive attitude, creative solutions, and collaborative approach, Jason Browne has a wealth of knowledge and marketing experience. Jason’s mindset and skillset provide a unique balance of strategic, technical, and social perspectives. The diversity of experience and successes showcase Jason’s unique skills and talent.
 
The last meeting of 2020 was our traditional Christmas breakfast. We welcomed 30 members, partners and guests.
President Cliff Harmsworth announced that Ron Borland had nominated as President for the next year (2020-21) and accepts the title President Elect. Ron has a long Rotary history and can bring a wealth of experience to the role.
 
President Cliff Harmsworth welcomed all, and made special mention of the 2020 Central Gold Coast Volunteer Award presented to Bruce Timbs. Bruce achieved this award for his untiring work for organising the Bunnings BBQ Sausage Sizzles. This is a major funraiser for the club. This money is they given to local charities.
