The Rotary Club of Mermaid Beach was very excited to introduce a Satellite Club at the last Changeover.
The Charter Members of the Mermaid Satellite Club Young Mermaid were inducted and each presented with the Rotary pin by Mermaid Beach Past Presidents. President Alan McDonald thanked PDG. Andy Rajapakse, Rotary International Zone 8 Assistant Rotary Coordinator, for his assistance in the formation of the club. The young people were told how they would pass on the responsibility of the Brightwell Trust to the next generation.
Chairman Tom Ross of the RCMB – Satellite spoke on how energised they were to carry on the work of Rotary.
This satellite club has given the RCMB members the chance to make a positive difference in a club environment that often differs from their local Rotary club. The RCMB – Satellite will often meet after work or via Zoom, depending on circumstances.
This initiative, instigated by President Alan McDonald have welcomed new perspective to the club.
